Go. A Korean baseball game is three hours of organised singing with a ballgame attached, tickets start around 5,000 won, and the 2026 season has five weeks left: the regular season ends on 7 October and the playoffs run through October.
The one real obstacle is buying the ticket, because the sites that sell them check for a Korean phone number. This page lists the ways around that, which are fewer than the travel blogs suggest, and then the rules for what you can carry in.
Everything here was checked against KBO, club and venue pages on 1 September 2026.
The three stadiums in Seoul
Jamsil Baseball Stadium is home to two clubs, LG Twins and Doosan Bears, so it has a game most days of the season. Sports Complex station, Line 2. This is its last season: Seoul demolishes it from December 2026, both clubs play in the Olympic Main Stadium next door from 2027 to 2031, and a 35,000-seat dome takes its place at the end of 2031.
Gocheok Sky Dome is Kiwoom Heroes’ home and the league’s only indoor stadium, which matters in the rainy weeks. It sits in the west of the city, a walk from Line 1.
Two more are an hour out: SSG Landers Field in Incheon and KT Wiz Park in Suwon. The Suwon one turns out to be important for visitors, below.
Who sells the tickets
The home club decides where its tickets are sold, and KBO’s own ticket page lists it:

Sales open a week before each game. Kiwoom’s page says 14:00 seven days out, running until an hour after first pitch, no fee on the club site and 1,000 to 3,000 won on NOL. Cancel the same day for free; from the next day it costs 10% of the ticket.
Now the problem. Ticketlink and NOL Ticket both run 본인인증 (bon-in-injeung, “identity verification”) against a Korean carrier, which is the wall described in the phone verification guide. A Korea Times guide from March 2026 says clubs also link to Ticketlink Global or NOL World. On 1 September 2026 NOL World’s front page listed concerts and musicals and no baseball at all, so do not count on it.
Four ways a visitor gets a seat
The box office. Every stadium sells on the day, from about two hours before first pitch. Whether anything is left depends on the game. KBO attendance has been breaking records and weekend games between the big Seoul clubs sell out online a week ahead, so this works for a Tuesday in Gocheok and often does not for a Saturday at Jamsil. Get there when the window opens.
Gocheok, with ID. From the 2026 season Kiwoom Heroes keep 200 seats per home game back from online sale for foreigners who buy at the box office on the day: 100 in the burgundy sections behind first and third base and 100 in the outfield. Bring your passport. This is the one Seoul route that exists specifically for you, and it makes Kiwoom the easy choice.
The wizzap app, for Suwon. KT Wiz’s own app lets you register with an email address, choosing “foreigner” as the member type, and at checkout pick payment by an overseas-issued card. A Japanese fan documented the whole flow with screenshots, updated 28 April 2026, and the App Store lists the app in Korean and English. It sells KT Wiz home games only, at KT Wiz Park in Suwon, about an hour south of Seoul on Line 1. If a reserved seat bought from your sofa at home is what you want, this is the club.
A package. Tour sellers bundle a Seoul game ticket with a guide and dinner, at several times the face value. That is the price of an advance seat at Jamsil without a Korean number, and for a group on a fixed date it can be worth it. One such package appears in the links below.
Regular-season tickets start around 5,000 won, per the Korea Times, and rise steeply for the table seats behind the plate. We could not load any club’s 2026 price table on the day we checked, so take the figure at the window.
Game times
Weekdays 18:30. Until 14 September weekend and holiday games start at 17:00; from 15 September Saturdays stay at 17:00 and Sundays and holidays move to 14:00. Over the Chuseok holiday, 24 to 27 September, every game starts at 17:00.
After 7 October the top five teams play a wild-card game, two best-of-five rounds and the best-of-seven Korean Series. KBO sets those dates only once the standings are final.
What you can carry in
KBO’s stadium rules have applied to every ground since 2015, with one change in 2023 when cans from outside were allowed again. As they stand:
- Food from outside, yes. Chicken and beer is the tradition and half the crowd carries a box in.
- Drinks in plastic bottles or cans, yes, unopened, up to one litre in total, and no more than one bottle and two cans per person.
- Glass, never. Not a beer bottle, not a jar.
- Beer sold inside is capped at two litres per person per game, and sales may stop after the eighth inning.
- No knives or scissors, no laser pointers, no noise-makers louder than the official ones, no pets.
Gocheok Sky Dome adds its own rule: anything alcoholic you bring must be 6% or under, and once you leave the building you cannot bring food back in.
Inside
Each club has a cheering section led by a 응원단장 (eung-won-danjang, “cheer captain”) and cheerleaders, and every batter has his own song. Fans stand, sing and swing inflatable sticks through their own team’s at-bats, then sit and go quiet while the other side hits. Copy that rhythm and you will pass. The songs are on YouTube under the club’s name if you want to arrive knowing one.
Sit in the home cheering section if you want the full experience and the outfield if you want to talk. At Jamsil both LG and Doosan are the home club on different days, and the crowd will make it obvious within one inning which one it is.
If you are reading this in September 2026, go to Jamsil rather than saving it for next year. Next year it will be a construction site.
