This exhibition is a specially curated event for children and families, showcasing a variety of contemporary art pieces themed around animals in a space that harmonizes with the nature of Seokchon Lake. Through different genres such as painting, drawing, sculpture, and installation, animals appear in familiar and lovely forms, while at other times, they are reborn as strange and imaginative beings.

From the moment humanity first began to draw, animals have been central protagonists in art. Animals have served as beings that connect humans with nature, and at times, as mirrors reflecting human emotions, desires, and ways of life.

Since ancient times, the Korean people have viewed animals with great familiarity, even using the twelve zodiac animals (Tti) to gauge a person's personality and destiny. Furthermore, by attributing human traits and emotions to animals in stories and art, they have reflected upon their own lives and society. From friendly pets to wild animals and mythical creatures, artists have continuously explored the beauty of life, the mysteries of nature, and the relationship between humans and the world through animals.

The world of animals unfolded within these works sometimes feels like a miniature version of human society. By following the expressions, gestures, relationships, and stories created by the animals, one can discover the diverse aspects of human life projected within them. Furthermore, visitors will encounter the ways in which humans and animals influence each other and the fact that all living things in nature are closely interconnected.

We hope this exhibition provides children with a joyful time to get closer to art through free imagination, and offers adults an opportunity to rethink animals and nature, which they may have viewed only from a human perspective. We invite you to slowly journey through a new world of art while feeling the preciousness of life alongside the special animals you will meet at Seokchon Lake.
