Surim New Wave 2026 is a series of performances highlighting original traditional musicians. This year's theme, "Eot," focuses on the charm of traditional Korean music created through the skillful manipulation of rhythm and expectation.
One of the featured events is "Golden Hour" by gayageum performer and creator Lee Jun, taking place on Thursday, September 3, at 19:30. The performance explores the boundaries between life and death, reality and the spiritual world. Accompanied by Lee Won-sul on contrabass and Hwang Min-wang on janggu, the program includes Seong Geum-yeon style gayageum sanjo and other original compositions.
