Seoul Namsan Gukakdang and SIDance present "Muak (Mu-ak) and the Body's Rotation," taking place on September 16, 2026, at 19:30 at the Seoul Namsan Gukakdang Crown Haitai Hall.
The performance, titled Ssitgim, is a modern reinterpretation of the Jindo Ssitgim-gut tradition, which serves as a ritual to send off the spirits of the deceased. This living ritual blends the sounds and dances of a shaman with the performances of musicians and baraji. Led by music director Kim Tae-young, the show features a dancer who acts as the ritual leader, using the language of the body to tell a personal story through a powerful flow of energy and movement.
