Special Exhibition Commemorating the 140th Anniversary of Korea-France Diplomatic Relations
THE FACE: Facing Each Other – A Three-Person Exhibition of Conceptual Art by Yim Jiksoon, Chung Hyun, and Hong Soonmo
This exhibition seeks to reflect on human life and existence through the face. The face is a place where emotions, memories, and time permeate, and a boundary where we encounter others and the world; within it, we read the lives of others and reflect upon our own image. Yim Jiksoon, Chung Hyun, and Hong Soonmo use painting and sculpture to reveal impressions of emotion, traces of time, and inner depth through their respective formal languages, expanding the contemplation of humanity.
Here, the face functions beyond a simple form to become a window of understanding, and the act of facing one another's faces becomes a process of recognizing each other's existence.
