Noh Gallery will host Kim Deok-gi's solo exhibition, 《Where Light Lingers》, from August 13 to September 10. This exhibition marks the artist's first solo show at Noh Gallery in 10 years since 2016, serving as a meaningful occasion to survey the world of painting he has built over a long period. Known as the "painter who delivers happiness," Kim Deok-gi graduated from the Department of Oriental Painting at Seoul National University and is an artist who captures landscapes encountered through family, nature, and travel, as well as precious moments of daily life, using warm and vibrant colors.
The countless dots and lines that fill the canvas go beyond a simple reproduction of scenery to visualize memories, emotions, and the warmth of life, conveying a sense of comfort and happiness to the viewer.
《Where Light Lingers》 is more than just an exhibition of landscapes; it is a showcase that speaks of the light and memories that linger long in our lives, and the warm relationships between people. The numerous colored dots layered upon Kim Deok-gi's canvases ultimately become small lights reflecting the happy moments we have all shared, offering visitors a gentle consolation and a warm, lasting impression.
